HODE : a project created by children, for children

We are glad to welcome you to this website dedicated to an international project to raise awareness called Project HODE, the Official Anthem for Children's Rights (Hymne Officiel des Droits de l'Enfant).

Our goal is to write the lyrics, the music, and do the choreography to create an anthem promoting Children's Rights. Our team includes 150 voices, 50 musicians, and many jazz and hip-hop dancers. When everything is ready, we will sing, play and dance to this anthem to spread the word about Children's Rights.

This project was started by over 300 children and teenagers between the ages of 3 and 17 from the city of Saint-Priest-en-Jarez, and many other young adults and from different social and cultural organizations from nearby areas also lend a hand.

The goal of this project is to draw attention to the laws created by the International Convention for Children's Rights (ICCR), and the conditions that children, in France and around the world, are actually living.

In order to go through with this project, we have the help and support of many teachers, educators and artists. We have created the ATEC, the Temporary Association for Young Citizens (Association Temporaire d'Enfants Citoyens), to be in charge of Project HODE.

We are currently working with the AFNU, the French Association for the United Nations (Association Francaise des Nations Unies), the COFRADE, the French Council of Children's Rights Associations (Conseil Francais des Associations pour les Droits de l'Enfant), the Advocate for Children's Rights, and the Humanium Organization. We are also talking with UNICEF, the Department of National Education, the UNESCO, other human rights associations, and French NGOs such as Enfance et Partage and Solidarité Laïque in order to get their support for our project.

Yannick Noah, a former professional tennis player from France and who is currently best known for his popular career in music and for being the co-founder of a charity organization for underprivileged children, has signed on to participate and act as an official sponsor for Project HODE after meeting the the Project HODE team at the Zenith Concert Hall in Saint-Etienne on February 5th, 2011. He will be performing at the same concert hall in June 2012, with guests in audience from different educational and financial organizations, other NGOs, supporters, contributers, and friends and family of the Project HODE team.

Our final product will be a CD and a DVD of the Anthem that will be available to the public as of November 20th 2012. This will help promote Children's Rights in France and around the world, and the revenue generated from the sales of these CDs and DVDs will be donated to different charities dedicated to helping children.

We need each and every one of you to help spread the word about this website and our cause, regardless of language or distance. We are a non-profit organization and work solely with money from donations, please help us help the children.

Thank you very much.
Sincerely, the Project HODE Team
